Aiya Children's Riding Tights
Aiya riding tights are Englander Equestrian's children's riding tights. Three designs: Plain in black or navy at £24.95, Rock N Roll and Unicorn prints at £29.95, all prices including VAT. Every pair has a full-seat silicone grip and a phone pocket on each side. Sizes run by waist from 20 to 28 inches, around ages 3 to 12.
The Aiya family
Aiya is our riding-tights range. It launched in November 2025 and, for now, it is a children's range only. All three designs share the same fabric, cut, waistband, pockets, grip and five waist sizes. The differences are colour, print and price.
- Plain, in black or navy. The straightforward option and the lowest price.
- Rock N Roll, a black base with a multicolour rock-and-roll doodle print on the back panels and leg.
- Unicorn, a navy base with a multicolour silicone unicorn print on the side panels. Because the print is silicone, it adds a little extra hold.
Adult Aiya riding tights are at the concept stage, and Aiya base layers for adults and children are an idea we are looking at. Nothing is on sale, and we have no sizes, prices or dates to give. If they go ahead they will sit on this page next to the children's tights.

Who Aiya riding tights are for
- Children who are learning to ride, or riding regularly at lessons and at the yard.
- Children with a waist between 20 and 28 inches, which is around 3 to 12 years.
- Parents who want something that pulls on like leggings, washes at 40°C and has a pocket for a phone.
- Riders who want a full-seat grip rather than knee patches.
Who they are not for
- Adults and older teenagers. There are no adult sizes yet.
- Children with a waist under 20 inches or over 28 inches.
- Riders who prefer a knee-patch tight without a silicone seat.
- Anyone whose riding school, yard or show has a dress code that asks for something other than riding tights. Check with them first.
Why a full-seat grip helps a learner
The seat of every Aiya tight, and the inside of each leg down to the knee, is printed with small silicone octagons. Silicone holds on to a saddle where smooth fabric slides. For a child who is still learning to sit to the trot, that extra hold makes it easier to stay in the middle of the saddle and keep a steady lower leg. It gives them a little more confidence while their balance catches up.
It is a help, not a safety device. Grip does not replace balance, a properly fitted riding hat or a good instructor.
Fit and sizing
Aiya tights are sized by waist in inches, not by age and not by dress size. The size label on each pair reads the waist in inches.

Measure around your child's waist, over a thin layer, and choose the nearest size. The age guide of around 3 to 12 years is a rough pointer only; the waist measurement decides. See the size guide for how to measure.
Care
The care label says: machine wash at 40°C, wash separately, use a detergent for delicate fabrics, no fabric conditioner or softener, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, dry slowly, and iron on the lowest setting. The label also says that a little colour may come out in the wash, and that it has no protection against pilling caused by external influences, such as rubbing. Are riding tights suitable for a first riding lesson?
Yes. Aiya tights pull on like leggings, stretch four ways and have a silicone seat that gives a learner extra hold in the saddle. Pair them with a riding boot such as the children's Gaia jodhpur boots and a properly fitted riding hat.
Which Aiya size fits my child?
