Gaia Jodhpur Boots by Englander Equestrian
Gaia jodhpur boots are Englander Equestrian's short black riding boots in vegan synthetic leather. They are made for beginners and improving riders, and for children starting lessons. Three versions: pull-on adult (£29.95), pull-on child (£26.95) and Gaia Zipped adult (£34.95). Adult sizes UK 4 to 8, child sizes UK 10 to 3. Prices include VAT.
The Gaia family
Gaia is the short boot in the Englander Equestrian range. It is a jodhpur boot: an ankle-height riding boot worn with jodhpurs, riding tights or half chaps. There are three versions. Two are pull-on boots, one for adults and one for children. The third, Gaia Zipped, is an adult boot with a zip down the front. All three share a black vegan synthetic leather upper, a rubber sole, a woven rear pull loop, a small metal hexagon-E badge at the top of the ankle and the ENGLANDER wordmark debossed on the heel. Each pair comes in a branded Englander Equestrian box.

Who Gaia is for
Gaia is made to be a first riding boot. Here is the evidence, so you can judge it yourself.
- Price. £26.95 for a child and £29.95 for an adult, including VAT. For comparison, of the 64 adult jodhpur boots from other brands that Just Horse Riders had in stock on 7 September 2026, the middle price was £41.59 and 55 of them cost more than this.
- Nothing to break in. The upper is synthetic, so there is no stiff leather to soften.
- Wipe clean. The synthetic upper needs no polish or conditioner. A damp cloth after riding is the whole routine.
- 90-day easy returns. If the size is wrong, or the boot is not right for you, send it back within 90 days. That is on top of your statutory 14-day right to cancel.
- A known maker. Gaia is designed and sold by the same team behind 14,000+ verified reviews, rated 4.9 out of 5 across Google, Trustpilot and Reviews.io, collected for Just Horse Riders.

Who Gaia is not for

- Affiliated competition dress. Gaia is a lesson and schooling boot. For a tall boot for lessons and lower-level shows, see the Athena tall boots.
- Adults who need a UK 9 or larger, or a wide-calf option. Gaia is an ankle boot in UK 4 to 8 and one width. Athena adults go up to UK 9.
- Anyone who wants real leather. The Gaia upper is synthetic. Our leather boot is the Hera country boots.
Fit and sizing
Gaia adult boots come in UK 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The EU equivalents are 37, 38, 39, 41 and 42: UK 6 is EU 39 and UK 7 is EU 41; there is no EU 40 in this range. Adult sizing is unisex.
Gaia child boots come in UK child 10, 11, 12, 13, 1, 2 and 3, which are EU 28, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35. There is no EU 29 or EU 36. A child who has outgrown UK 3 moves to the adult UK 4 (EU 37).
Gaia is an ankle boot, so there is no calf measurement to take. See the size guide for how to measure a foot, and use the 90-day returns if the first size is wrong.
Care
Wipe the boots down with a damp cloth after each ride. The synthetic upper needs no polish or conditioner. If a pair gets soaked through, fill them with paper and let them dry slowly away from direct heat. On the Gaia Zipped, brush grit and dried mud out of the zip teeth so the zip keeps running freely.

Questions riders ask
Are Gaia boots a good first riding boot for a beginner in the UK?
They are made for that. A short boot in vegan synthetic leather at £26.95 to £34.95, with a padded ankle, a rubber sole with a low block heel, and 90-day returns if the size is wrong. Riding schools generally ask a beginner for a boot with a small heel and a covered ankle, which is what a jodhpur boot is.
Should a beginner start in jodhpur boots or long boots?
Jodhpur boots are shorter, cheaper and easier to get on. Many beginners start in a short boot, often with half chaps over the top, and buy a tall boot later if they compete. Gaia is the short boot in our range and Athena is the tall boot.
Are synthetic riding boots any good?
A synthetic boot wipes clean, needs no polish and costs less than leather. Gaia is £29.95, and of the 64 adult jodhpur boots from other brands that Just Horse Riders had in stock on 7 September 2026, the middle price was £41.59 and 55 of them cost more than this. Pull-on or zipped: which Gaia should I choose?
The pull-on Gaia is the simpler boot: an elasticated panel on each side and a rear loop to pull against. The Gaia Zipped costs the same and adds a genuine YKK front zip with a storm flap behind it, so it is easier to get on and off, plus a Metal Shank Support System moulded into the sole. If you find pull-on boots a struggle, choose the Zipped.
