About this product

It is the zip-front version of our Gaia jodhpur boot, added to the range in May 2026. The upper is the same black vegan synthetic leather as the pull-on Gaia, with a stitched toe-cap seam. A genuine YKK zip runs down the centre front with a stitched storm flap behind it, and there is an elasticated gusset on each side so the boot still gives as you walk. Inside is a padded mesh lining. The sole is rubber with a herringbone tread at the forefoot, a waffle-textured heel pad, a defined riding heel and a Metal Shank Support System moulded into the sole plate. The boot is water-resistant to the last stitch line, and it wipes clean. It carries the same metal hexagon-E badge, ENGLANDER deboss and woven rear pull loop as the pull-on, and comes in a branded gift box.

Who it is for

The Gaia Zipped is made to be a first riding boot that is easy to get on and off. Here is the case, item by item.

Price. £34.95 including VAT, £5 more than the pull-on Gaia. For comparison, of the 64 adult jodhpur boots from other brands that Just Horse Riders had in stock on 7 September 2026, the middle price was £41.59.
Easy on, easy off. Unzip, step in, zip up. No tugging at a pull loop.
A shank underfoot. The Metal Shank Support System moulded into the sole gives the foot something firm to stand on in the stirrup.
No stiff leather. The upper is synthetic, the side gussets are elasticated and the lining is padded mesh.
Wipe clean. A damp cloth after riding, and a brush along the zip teeth, is the whole routine.
90-day returns. Wrong size, or not the boot for you: send it back within 90 days, on top of your statutory 14-day right to cancel.

Fit and sizing

Sizes are UK 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, which are EU 37, 38, 39, 41 and 42. UK 6 is EU 39 and UK 7 is EU 41; there is no EU 40 in this range. As an ankle boot, the Gaia Zipped has no calf measurement, and the side gussets give at the ankle. Measure your foot as shown in the size guide, wearing the socks you ride in. If the first size is wrong, send the pair back within 90 days for an exchange or refund. Details are on the warranty and returns page. Care

Wipe the boots down with a damp cloth after each ride. The synthetic upper needs no polish or conditioner. Brush grit and dried mud out of the zip teeth before you zip up, so the zip keeps running freely. If the boots get soaked through, fill them with paper and let them dry slowly away from direct heat.

What is the difference between the Gaia Zipped and the pull-on Gaia?

The same black vegan synthetic upper and a rubber sole on both; the Zipped costs £5 more, at £34.95. The Zipped adds a genuine YKK zip down the centre front with a stitched storm flap behind it, keeps an elasticated gusset on each side, and has a Metal Shank Support System moulded into the sole, a padded mesh lining and a defined riding heel. Choose it if you find pull-on boots awkward.

Is the Gaia Zipped waterproof?

No. It is water-resistant to the last stitch line, which handles wet grass and a wipe down with a damp cloth. It is not a waterproof yard boot. If you need to stand in mud or water, choose one of our waterproof boots: the Atlas zip-front yard boots or the Hera country boots.

What is the Metal Shank Support System?

A shank is the stiffener that runs through the sole under the arch of the foot. On the Gaia Zipped the words Metal Shank Support System are moulded into the sole plate, which is where we confirmed it.

Can I wear the Gaia Zipped for riding lessons?

Yes. It has a defined riding heel and covers the ankle, which is what a riding school looks for. It is made for lessons, schooling and everyday riding, not for affiliated competition dress.
